Text Message Terms & Conditions

These terms govern the text message program operated by The Friends of the Polk County Fairgrounds, the political action committee supporting Measure 27‑149 to keep the Polk County Fairgrounds open. By opting in to receive text messages from us, you agree to these terms.

About the program

The Friends of the Polk County Fairgrounds operates a text message program to keep supporters informed about Measure 27‑149. If you opt in, we may send you campaign updates, volunteer requests, event reminders, voting deadlines, and requests for support.

How you join

You join the program by entering your mobile number on our sign-up form and checking the box that asks whether we may text you. The box is not checked by default, and you must check it yourself.

Opting in is entirely optional. Consent to receive text messages is never required in order to volunteer, request a yard sign, endorse the measure, contribute, or receive any other help from the campaign.

You must be the account holder of the mobile number you provide, or have permission from the account holder to opt that number in. Do not enter someone else's number.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies. You may receive more messages as Election Day approaches and fewer at other times.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. The campaign does not charge you for these messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving them according to your plan. Contact your carrier if you have questions about charges.

How to stop messages

Reply STOP to any message from us at any time. You will receive a single confirmation message, and then we will send you no further messages unless you sign up again.

Carriers and delivery

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We cannot guarantee that every message will be delivered, and delivery depends on your carrier, your device, and your service coverage.

Supported carriers may change over time. This program is available on most major United States carriers.

Your privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with anyone for their own marketing purposes. Our full Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Eligibility

This program is intended for adults in the United States. We do not knowingly enroll anyone under 13 years of age.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continuing in the program after a change means you accept the updated terms.
